2.52.010 Board – Established – Composition.

There is created and established, pursuant to law, a board of trustees of the volunteer firemen’s relief and compensation fund to be known as the board of trustees of the volunteer firemen’s relief and compensation fund, which board shall consist of the mayor, the finance director, one duly elected, qualified and acting councilman to be chosen by the mayor and the choice to be approved by the council, the chief of the fire department and one member of the fire department elected by the members of said department, for a term of one year and annually thereafter, and when so chosen by said department, notice of such election and choice shall be filed with the finance director. (Ord. 751 § 1, 1935).

2.52.020 Board – Duties.

When so established and organized the board of trustees shall perform all duties prescribed by law. (Ord. 751 § 2, 1935).

2.52.030 Provisions – Applicability.

The provisions of this chapter shall apply only to volunteer firemen of the city of Mount Vernon. (Ord. 1170 § 1, 1955).

2.52.040 Firemen to be enrolled under certain provisions.

The city of Mount Vernon elects to permit volunteer firemen of the city to be enrolled under the pension and retirement provisions of the Volunteer Firemen’s Relief and Pension Act, being Chapter 41.24 RCW, as amended. (Ord. 1170 § 2, 1955).

2.52.050 Board – Powers and authority – Duty to submit vouchers.

The board of trustees of the Volunteer Firemen’s Relief and Pension Act are empowered to do all things necessary for the enrollment of volunteer firemen under the pension and retirement provisions of the act, as provided therein, and to submit vouchers for the payment of the share of the annual fee to be borne by the city. (Ord. 1170 § 3, 1955).
