2.98.010 Index maintenance undue burden.
As authorized by RCW 42.17.260(4), the city council does hereby find that there exists an undue burden and likelihood of interference with agency operations to maintain such an index as required under RCW 42.17.260. Thus, the city council hereby issues a formal order declaring that compliance would create an undue burden due to the volume of records produced and lack of resources needed to compile and maintain such records and that compliance would substantially interfere with city operations. All indexes the city maintains for its own use shall be made available for public inspection and copying. (Ord. 3256 § 1, 2005).
2.98.020 Policy adopted.
A. The city of Mount Vernon, Washington, public records policy (records policy) is hereby adopted by the city council as set forth in Exhibit A attached to the ordinance codified in this section.
B. The office of the mayor, in consultation with the public records officer identified in Exhibit A, is hereby authorized to amend the records policy as necessary to remain in compliance with evolving law governing the handling of public records requests and to update the records policy as facts may require.
