2.04.010 Meetings scheduled.

Regular meetings of the city council shall be held on the first and third Monday of each month at six p.m. A twenty-four-hour public notice will be issued by the mayor’s office for any additional special meetings or cancellations of scheduled meetings, except where the cancellation is caused by the unanticipated lack of a quorum. 2.04.020 Change in meeting.

In the event that the date set for regular meetings of the city council falls on a legally designated holiday, then in that event, the meeting shall be held on the following day (Tuesday) at seven p.m. or at such other date and time as the city council may set in advance. Special meetings may be called for by the mayor or a majority of the council members. (Ord. 787 § 2, 1994: Ord. 638 § 1 (part), 1989)

2.04.040 Place of meeting.

All regular meetings of the Mukilteo city council shall be held in the City Council Chambers located at 11930 Cyrus Way, Mukilteo, Washington. (Ord. 1270 § 1, 2011: Ord. 1113 § 1, 2004: Ord. 790 § 2, 1994: Ord. 787 § 3, 1994: Ord. 638 § 1 (part), 1989: Ord. 324 § 2, 1979)

2.04.050 Council president duties.

The council establishes the position of council president which will be assigned those duties delegated by the mayor to this position and such other duties as may be prescribed from time to time by the council. The individual serving in this position shall be elected annually by majority vote of the council, at the first regular council meeting of the year. Individual councilmembers may serve consecutive terms as council president. The council acknowledges the duties delegated by the mayor for this position shall only include the following:

A.    Presiding over all regular and special council meetings;

B.    Overseeing and approving all formulation of council agenda; and

C.    Scheduling all regular and special meetings.

The delegation of these duties is revocable, at the will of the mayor. The delegation of duties shall expire upon revocation by the mayor, upon the expiration of the term of office of the incumbent mayor, or upon the expiration of one year from the date of election by the council, whichever occurs first. 2.04.060 Council president to act as mayor pro tem.

Whomever is elected as council president shall also have all of the collateral duties of the position of mayor pro tem. (Ord. 821 § 1 (part), 1994)

2.04.070 Council vice president and mayor pro tem.

The council shall also elect by majority vote an alternate to serve as council vice president and mayor pro tem in the absence of the council president. The council vice president shall have all the duties and authority of the council president/mayor pro tem in his/her absence. (Ord. 872 § 1, 1996: Ord. 821 § 1 (part), 1994)
