2.36.010 Elective and appointive officers – Compensation.
Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 35A.12 RCW, the elective officers of this city shall receive compensation in an amount to be established each year in the ordinance adopting the city’s budget. The rate of compensation for the mayor and councilmembers shall be an annual salary, payable in equal monthly installments. If the mayor or a councilmember ceases to hold office during any calendar year, then the amount to be paid for the time served will be prorated. (Ord. 734 § 1, 1987: Ord. 490 § 1, 1979).
2.36.020 Elective and appointive officers – Travel allowance.
In the event any elective or appointive officer of the city is required to travel beyond the municipal limits of the city for the benefit of the city, and such travel has been authorized or approved by the city council, such elective or appointive officer of the city shall be allowed his or her actual transportation charges or costs, together with a per diem allowance of $80.00 per day. In the event the travel does not require the elective or appointive officer to be gone from the city overnight or a distance of over 25 miles from the city, such elective or appointive officer shall be reimbursed for his or her actual expenses including meals and transportation. 2.36.030 Elective and appointive officers – Mileage allowance.
In the event any elective or appointive officer uses a private motor vehicle as a mode of transportation, the owner of the motor vehicle shall be reimbursed at the rate of seventeen cents (17′) per mile, or at the mileage rate allowed by the state, whichever rate is higher. (Ord. 490 § 3, 1979).
