The 2006 Edition of the International Building Code, as adopted and hereafter amended by the State Building Code Council in Chapter 51-50 WAC, as published by the International Code Council, excluding Chapter 1, “Administration,” is adopted, together with the following amendments:
A. Appendix Chapter E, “Supplementary Accessibility Requirements” is adopted.
B. Section 501.2 is amended to read as follows:
Section 501.2. Premises identification. Approved numbers or addresses shall be provided for new buildings in such a position as to be clearly visible and legible from the street or roadway fronting the property. Letters or numbers shall be a minimum 4 inches (101 mm) in height and stroke of minimum 0.5 inch (12.7 mm) of a contrasting color to the background itself.
C. Section 3408.1 is amended to read as follows:
Section 3408.1. Conformance. Structures moved into or within the jurisdiction shall comply with the provisions of this Title for new structures. Prior to issuance of a permit to move a structure into the jurisdiction, the applicant shall provide a performance bond to the City Treasurer for an amount to be determined by the City Council. Structures moved into the jurisdiction shall be completed within 90 days.
D. Section 1704.12 is amended to read as follows:
Section 1704.12. Exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS). Special inspections shall be required for all EIFS applications.
E. Exceptions to Section 1704.12:
1. Exterior insulation finish systems (EIFS) shall be certified by the manufacturer as having been installed per the manufacturer’s installation recommendations. The building official is authorized to approve alternate agencies in lieu of the manufacturer to certify installation of EIFS.
2. Special inspections shall not be required for EIFS applications installed over masonry or concrete walls. (Ord. 1276 § 2 (part), 2007: Ord. 1214 § 1 (part), 2004).
