10.08.010 Generally.

The following words and phrases when used in this title, shall, for the purpose of this title have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this chapter, unless where used the context thereof clearly indicates to the contrary. (Ord. 514 §1, 1967).

10.08.020 Central business (or traffic) district.

“Central business (or traffic) district means all that area of Main Street bounded by 5th Street on the west, and 10th Street on the east. (Ord. 514 §2, 1967).

10.08.030 Curb loading zone.

“Curb loading zone” means a space adjacent to a curb reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers. (Ord. 514 §6(a), 1967).

10.08.040 Curb loading zone, freight.

“Freight curb loading zone” means a space adjacent to a curb for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of freight. (Ord. 514 §6(c), 1967).

10.08.050 Curb loading zone, passenger.

“Passenger curb loading zone” means a space adjacent to a curb reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers. (Ord. 514 §6(b), 1967).

10.08.060 Official time standard.

Whenever certain hours are named herein they mean standard time or daylight saving time as may be in current use in this city. (Ord. 514 §4, 1967).

10.08.070 Park or parking.

“Park or parking” means the standing of a vehicle, whether occupied or not, otherwise than temporarily for the purpose of, and while actually engaged in, loading or unloading merchandise or passengers. (Ord. 514 §3(d), 1967).

10.08.080 Police officer.

“Police officer” means every officer of this municipal police department or any officer authorized to direct or regulate traffic or to make arrests for violations of traffic regulations. (Ord. 514 §5(a), 1967).

10.08.090 Right-of-way.

“Right-of-way” means the right of one vehicle or pedestrian to proceed in a lawful manner in preference to another vehicle or pedestrian approaching under such circumstances of direction, speed and proximity as to give rise to danger of collision unless one grants precedence to the other. (Ord. 514 §2, 1967).

10.08.100 Stand or standing.

“Stand or standing” means the halting of a vehicle whether occupied or not, otherwise than for the purpose of, and while actually engaged in, receiving or discharging passengers. (Ord. 514 §3(c), 1967).

10.08.010 Stop.

“Stop,” when required, means complete cessation of movement. (Ord. 514 §3(a), 1967).

10.08.120 Stop or stopping.

“Stop or stopping,” when prohibited, means any halting even momentarily of a vehicle, whether occupied or not, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or traffic control sign or signal. (Ord. 514 §3(b), 1967).

10.08.130 Traffic division.

“Traffic division” means the traffic division of the police department of this city, or in the event a traffic division is not established, then that term, whenever used herein, refers to the police department of this city. (Ord. 514 §5(b), 1967).
