2.48.010 Defense required.

The city, under the direction of its city attorney’s office, shall provide the legal defense and paying of valid judgments and claims of employees, officials, and board or commission members of the city arising from their actions or conduct during the course of their official duties; provided, however, this section shall not apply to those occurrences covered by a policy of liability insurance. (Ord. 1884 § 1, 1981).

2.48.020 Prosecution prohibited.

The city shall not pursue a claim for damages against its employees, officials, or board or commission members due to the actions or conduct of such employees, officials, or board or commission members arising in the course of their official duties; provided, however, appropriate disciplinary measures may be taken against such employees, officials, or board or commission members. (Ord. 1884 § 2, 1981).
