PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON SPECIFIC STREETS

10.20.010 Along SR 507 (Binghampton Street).

A.    The town council finds that a dangerous situation exists along SR 507 (Binghampton Street), in the area of Minnesota and Center Streets because of school crossings and other pedestrian crossings in the area together with impaired vision for drivers of vehicles due to current vehicle parking in the area.

B.    When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle along SR 507 (Binghampton Street), in those areas as identified in Appendix A, attached to the ordinance codified in this section, which is incorporated herein as if fully set forth. The zones in which no person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle as described herein, shall be marked as tow-away zones. In addition to being a tow away zone, whenever any motor vehicle without driver is found parked, standing or stopped in violation of this section, the officer finding such vehicle shall take its registration number and any other information displayed on the vehicle which may identify its user, and shall conspicuously affix to such vehicle a traffic citation. An infraction under this section shall result in a penalty of ten dollars ($10.00).

C.    Remedies of the town for nonpayment of traffic infractions shall be in accordance with state law. (Ord. 303, 1991)
