2.12.010 Combining office of clerk and treasurer.

The appointive office of city treasurer is abolished and the offices of city clerk are combined with the offices of city treasurer. This office shall be designated the city clerk, and shall be selected as set forth in the laws of the state relating to cities and towns.

2.12.020 Bond – Required.

The city clerk of the city of Rock Island, Washington, shall, before entering upon the duties of her office, execute a bond to said city of Rock Island in the penal sum of $10,000.

2.12.030 Bond – Purpose.

Said bonds shall be conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties of said office, including the duties of all offices of which said officer is made by law ex-officio incumbents, and said bond shall be approved by the city council, and filed with the city clerk, except that the bond of the city clerk shall be filed with the mayor.

2.12.040 City clerk – Salary.

The city clerk of the city of Rock Island shall receive such compensation as is determined by the city council by written resolution, and shall be paid by warrant or check drawn on the current salary fund of the said city each month. The fill-in department clerk’s compensation shall also be determined by written resolution of the city council, and shall be paid by warrant or check drawn on the current expense salary funds of the said city each month.
