10.32.010 Speed limit established.

The maximum speed limit on city streets, roads and alleys shall be 25 mph unless otherwise designated in this chapter. (Ord. 10-111 § 1).

10.32.020 Specific exceptions.

The maximum speed limit on certain streets and roads within the city shall be the speed limit established in RIMC 10.32.010, except as follows:

A. The maximum speed limit on State Highway 28 shall be as established by the state of Washington.

B. The maximum speed limit on 1st Avenue between Garden and Douglas Streets shall be 20 mph.

C. The maximum speed limit on Saunders Street between the east side of Pit Lake and Batterman Road shall be 35 mph. (Ord. 10-111 § 1).

10.32.030 Limitations on speed limit.

A. The speed limits set out in this chapter are subject to the provisions of Title 46 RCW, as the same exists now or may hereafter be amended, relating to speed limits at crosswalks, in school zones, and near playgrounds.

B. The speed limits established in this chapter are subject to provisions of Title 46 RCW, as the same exists now or may hereafter be amended, that limit speeds to speeds reasonable and prudent under the conditions, having regard for the actual potential hazards then existing and in accordance with temporary speed limits posted in construction zones. (Ord. 10-111 § 1).

10.32.040 Violation – Penalty.

A violation of this chapter shall be an infraction subject to the monetary penalty imposed by Douglas County District Court pursuant to the provisions of the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) and the Infraction Rules for Courts of Limited Jurisdiction (IRLJ), as the same exist now or may hereafter be amended.
