DAMAGE TO CITY PROPERTY AND WILDLIFE

7A.18.010 Damage to park facilities or properties.

No person, except a duly authorized department employee in the performance of his or her duties, or other person duly authorized pursuant to law, may remove, move, relocate, change position, destroy, deface, or damage any City material, equipment, or other property which is under the jurisdiction of the department. This section applies to any City of Sammamish open space, trail, park area, park facility or associated marine area. Any person violating provisions of this rule shall have committed a criminal misdemeanor. (Ord. O2021-531 § 3 (Att. A))

7A.18.020 Damage to plant life.

No person, except a duly authorized department employee or authorized city volunteer in the performance of his or her duties, or other person duly authorized pursuant to law, may remove, move, relocate, change position, destroy, deface, mutilate, injure, or damage any City vegetation, living or dead, which is under the jurisdiction of the department. This section applies to any City of Sammamish open space, trail, park area, facility or associated marine area. Any person violating provisions of this rule shall have committed a criminal misdemeanor. (Ord. O2021-531 § 3 (Att. A))

7A.18.030 Damage to wildlife.

Except for authorized fishing and shellfishing in authorized areas and subject to rules promulgated by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, no person in any manner may capture, tease, annoy, harass, disturb, strike, mutilate, injure or damage any animal within any City of Sammamish open space, trail, park area, facility or associated marine area. Any person violating provisions of this rule shall have committed a criminal misdemeanor. (Ord. O2021-531 § 3 (Att. A))

7A.18.040 Mechanical trapping devices.

No person, except a duly authorized department employee in the performance of his or her duties, or other person duly authorized pursuant to law, may use a mechanical trapping device within any City of Sammamish open space, trail, park area, park facility, or associated marine area. For the purpose of this section, a “mechanical trapping device” shall be defined as any device that shuts suddenly upon contact by an animal or kills or inflicts physical pain and injury upon a captured animal. This section includes, but is not limited to, snares or machines. The act of capturing an animal, by other than lawful means, is prohibited. Any person violating provisions of this rule shall have committed a criminal misdemeanor. (Ord. O2021-531 § 3 (Att. A))

7A.18.050 Feeding animals.

It is unlawful for any person in any City of Sammamish open space, trail, park area, park facility or associated marine area to feed wildlife, except that this prohibition does not include licensed fishing or shellfishing activity in designated areas. Any person violating provisions of this rule shall have committed a civil offense. (Ord. O2021-531 § 3 (Att. A))
