CLASSIFICATION OF CITY

1.24.010 Adopted as noncharter code city.

Notwithstanding anything contained in the existing ordinances of the city of Shelton to the contrary, the city of Shelton, Washington, does adopt the classification of noncharter code city endowed with all applicable rights, powers, privileges, duties and obligations of noncharter code cities as set forth in Title 35A of the Revised Code of Washington as the same now exists, including, but not by way of limitation, those set forth specifically in Chapter 35A.11 of said title and further including any and all supplements, amendments or other modifications of said title hereafter at any time enacted. 1.24.020 Council-manager form adopted.

The prior form of government of the city of Shelton, being commission form, concluded on May 15, 2018, with the adoption of the council-manager form of government under Chapter 35A.13 RCW and seating of the new seven-person city council at the first regular city council meeting held May 15, 2018. 1.24.030 Classification and name.

Effective May 15, 2018, the city of Shelton shall be classified as a noncharter code city operating as a council-manager form of government pursuant to Chapter 35A.13 RCW and statutory provisions applicable to the council-manager form, and the name of the city shall henceforth be the city of Shelton.
