2.28.010 Department established.

There is created and established the community and economic development department of the city of Shelton, which shall include the divisions of comprehensive planning, current planning, community and economic development, building and other divisions as designated by the city manager. The department of community and economic development shall also serve as the city planning agency as defined by RCW 35A.63.020. 2.28.020 Director—Appointed.

2.28.030 Director—Duties.

The community and economic development director shall have direct control and management of all members of the department in the exercise of their duties, subject to the provisions of law and of city ordinances, departmental policies, and collective bargaining agreements. The director shall have custody, care and control of the property and equipment of the department and shall oversee preparation of the departmental budget. He/she shall conduct periodic surveys of such property and arrange for the appropriate acquisition and surplus of departmental property and equipment.
