ENFORCEMENT AND CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY

20.54.010 Permits.

It shall be the duty of the city planning director (or official in charge of issuing building permits and inspection of buildings) to see that this title is enforced through the proper legal channels. He shall issue no permit for the construction or alteration of any building or part thereof unless the plans, specifications and intended use of such building conform in all respects with the provisions of this title. 20.54.020 Site plan required.

All applications for building permits shall be accompanied by a site plan in duplicate drawn to scale, showing the actual dimensions of the lot to be built upon, the size, the use and location of existing buildings and buildings to be erected, and such other information as may be necessary to provide for the enforcement of this title. 20.54.030 Certificate required.

No vacant land shall be occupied or used and no building hereafter erected shall be occupied or used until a certificate of occupancy is issued by the city stating that the provisions of this title have been complied with and a violation of the terms of this title shall be grounds for the revocation of the certificate of occupancy. 20.54.040 Change in use.

No change in use of land or building shall be permitted until a certificate of occupancy is issued by the city stating that the provisions of this title have been complied with. (Amended during 9/92 supplement; Ord. 987 § 16.04, 1979)

20.54.050 Temporary certificate.

The city may issue a temporary certificate of occupancy for all or part of any building or land for a period of time not to exceed fourteen days. (Amended during 9/92 supplement; Ord. 987 § 16.05, 1979)

20.54.060 Application.

The application for a certificate of occupancy shall contain a statement of the intended use of the premises and such plans and information as may be required by the city in order to determine whether the building, structure or use is in compliance with this title. 20.54.070 Licenses.

Business and occupational licenses, if required, shall not be issued unless the applicant has a valid certificate of occupancy. (Ord. 987 § 16.07, 1979)
