20.142.010 Purpose.

The purpose of this Chapter is to ensure registration of all existing and new businesses within the City limits. Business registration enhances emergency response time by Police and Fire personnel, and is a valuable economic tool. (Ord. 2000-6 § 2(part), 2000: Ord. 95-5 § 1(part), 1995).

20.142.020 Business registration, when required.

All new and existing business, including retail, wholesale, commercial, industrial and home occupations are required to register with the City by completing a Business Registration Card.

New businesses shall include those which have:

1. Established a new business;

2. After being registered with the City, moved to a new location;

3. Substantially changed business emphasis; or

4. Changed name or ownership. (Ord. 2000-6 § 2(part), 2000: Ord. 95-5 § 1(part), 1995).

20.142.030 Development authorization, when required.

A. Prior to issuance of a Business Registration Card, all existing and new businesses, including retail, wholesale, commercial, industrial, service and home occupations shall first submit a Development Authorization application to determine review and permit requirements, if any, of this Code.

B. Request for Business Registration Card which registers a change of name or ownership of a business already registered with the City and which does not change any other aspect of the business, shall not require a Development Authorization, except that the business owner shall complete a Business Registration Card with the City.
