20.154.010 Purpose.

It is the purpose of this Chapter to define automotive service station and to provide operation standards which are supplemental to specific development standards of the zone in which it is located.

20.154.020 Definition.

An automotive service station means a retail facility to provide motor fuel and other petroleum products to motor vehicles, and may include lubrication and minor repair service and incidental sale of motor vehicle accessories.

20.154.030 Specific use standards.

A. Servicing of motor vehicles and operations incidental thereto are limited to the retail sale of petroleum products and automotive accessories; automobile washing and waxing; tire changing and repair (excluding recapping); battery service (excluding repair and rebuilding); radiator cleaning and flushing; steam cleaning; and installation of accessories.

B. Operations similar to the following are permitted, if conducted within a building: lubrication of motor vehicles; brake servicing limited to servicing and replacement of brake cylinders, lines and brake shoes; wheel balancing; testing adjustment, replacement, and servicing of carburetors, coils, condensers, distributor caps, fan belts, filters, generators, points, rotors, spark plugs, voltage regulators, water and fuel pumps, water hoses, and wiring.

C. Automotive service stations must be equipped with grease interceptor systems approved by the Site Plan Review Committee.
