2.84.005 Definitions.
As used in this chapter, terms are defined as follows:
A. “Family” means a parent or parents, grandparent or grandparents, legal guardian or guardians, adult care giver or care givers, child or children; provided that any child or children are in attendance with one or more of their parent or parents, grandparent or grandparents, legal guardian or guardians, adult care giver or care givers and are under their immediate care and supervision while at the facility.
B. “Group rate” means a special admission charge for a designated group of individuals to participate in swimming activities during their regularly scheduled involvement in a physical education or recreation program approved by the city of Walla Walla parks and recreation director. 2.84.010 Admission rates – Per-session fees.
The per-session rates at Veterans’ Memorial Swimming Pool shall be:
Children under 6 with an adult
Free
Children 6 to 17
$1.25/person
Adults 18 and over
2.50/person
Parent/tot session
2.50/adult-child
Lap swim session
1.25/person
Evening family session
6.25 max./family
Group rate
1.25/person
The daily rate at Jefferson Park Swimming Pool shall be:
Children 10 and under

2.84.015 Admission rates – Special.
The city manager is authorized, upon recommendation of the director of parks and recreation, to set special rates for swimming pool use at certain times or for certain specific periods of time. (Ord. 96-15 § 1(part), 1996).
2.84.025 Admission rates – Ticket books.
The ticket book prices shall be:
Child

Adult
45.00/book
Tickets which are not used are redeemable for new tickets in the following year by submitting them to the city along with the cash value difference in price. Tickets are not refundable. Lost tickets will not be replaced.
A. Use of Tickets at Veterans’ Memorial Swimming Pool. Each ticket shall admit a child or adult to enter the swimming pool for one session. No more than four tickets shall be required to admit all members of a family to a family session.
B. Use of Tickets at Jefferson Park Swimming Pool. A ticket shall admit a child to enter the swimming pool for one day. (Ord. 99-43 § 2, 1999: Ord. 98-38 § 2, 1998: Ord. 97-42 § 2, 1997: Ord. 96-15 § 1(part), 1996).
2.84.030 Swim lessons – Fees.
The following fees shall be charged for swimming lessons at city swimming pools:
A. Basic and intermediate classes
$20.00
B. Specialty classes
up to 30.00

2.84.035 Veterans’ Memorial Swimming Pool – Walla Walla Swim Team.
Walla Walla Swim Team members shall be required to pay a fee of twenty dollars to use Veterans’ Memorial Swimming Pool in connection with all Walla Walla Swim Team practices.
The Walla Walla Swim Team shall be required to pay the city four hundred fifty dollars each year for use of the Veterans’ Memorial Swimming Pool for the Sweet Onion Swim Meet. (Ord. 96-15 § 1(part), 1996).
2.84.040 Rental of pools.
The following fees shall be charged as rental for group use of city-owned swimming pools after regular public swim hours:
A. Jefferson Park Swimming Pool:

B. Veterans’ Memorial Swimming Pool:
1 to 50 participants

51 to 100 participants
100.00/session
101 to 150 participants
125.00/session

2.84.045 Admission tax.
There is levied and imposed upon every person paying for a right to swim at city swimming pools in accordance with rates now in existence, or as such rates may hereafter be amended, an admission tax in the amount of four percent of the rate charged. (Ord. 97-42 § 4, 1997: Ord. 96-15 § 1(part), 1996).
2.84.050 Admission rates and admission taxes – Remitted to city finance division.
The admission rates and admission taxes imposed and levied by this chapter shall be remitted to the city finance division. (Ord. 97-42 § 5, 1997: Ord. 96-15 § 1(part), 1996).
