10.17.010 Issuance of construction parking permits.

The police department is authorized to issue a bona fide and licensed general building construction, plumbing, electrical and other contractors and to appliance repair, refrigeration servicing, office machine servicing and similar necessary service companies or personnel, upon proper application therefor on forms to be provided by the police department for such purpose, after the need has been verified and approved by the police department, a construction parking permit for use by such persons in connection with work or work projects requiring them to park vehicles in parking zones. Each permit issued by the police department shall bear the license number and other identifying data of the vehicle for which it is issued. The permit shall not be used in any parking locations other than parking zones, and at a location proximate to where the work or work project is being performed. (Ord. 95-20 § 1(part), 1995).

10.17.020 Fees.

A. Each person applying for a permit shall pay therefor the following fees:

1. Annual fee for first vehicle twenty-five dollars;

2. Annual fee for additional vehicles, each vehicle ten dollars;

3. Monthly or portion of monthly fee for each vehicle five dollars.

B. The annual fees provided in this section shall be upon a calendar year basis or for any portion thereof. (Ord. 95-20 § 1(part), 1995).

10.17.030 When permit is to be displayed.

Each permit purchased and issued shall be placed in a conspicuous location near the parking space occupied by the vehicle for which it is issued during the period of time the contractor or his authorized agents or employees require such parking space in connection with contracting work. (Ord. 95-20 § 1(part), 1995).

10.17.040 Unauthorized vehicles in parking space.

It is unlawful for any vehicle, other than the vehicle identified upon a construction parking permit, to be stopped or parked in the parking space controlled by such permit. (Ord. 95-20 § 1(part), 1995).

10.17.050 Penalty for violation.

Any person, firm or corporation who violates or fails to comply with any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be fined in any sum not exceeding one hundred dollars. (Ord. 95-20 § 1(part), 1995).
