19.35.010 Underground utilities.
A. Financing of Installations. The developer shall make all arrangements for the installation of underground utilities with the appropriate agency or utility. The costs of constructing new facilities shall be the responsibility of the developer.
B. Covenant for Future Installations. Development covenants and final plats shall contain a provision that all future utility facilities shall be placed underground. (Ord. 98-42 § 1(part), 1998: Ord. 94-11 § 1(part), 1994).
19.35.020 Street lighting alternative assemblies.
A. In special circumstances, the city may approve the use of alternative street lighting assemblies in lieu of the city standard lighting system. Alternative assemblies are those that provide a special ambiance to the neighborhood. Such assemblies must be a product of a lighting manufacturer that produces lights for street lighting purposes. The fixtures must be installed to avoid glare that would distract motorists or pedestrians. They must be designed to direct light to the ground surface around the sign base. The city will be responsible for the cost of electricity to the street lights in an amount commensurate with the quantity of electricity which would be consumed by the standard number and type of street lights required. The developer and its successors shall be responsible for the balance of such cost when installing alternative street lighting assemblies.
B. The developer shall be responsible for and shall provide for the continued maintenance, operation and power costs for alternative street lighting assemblies. The city will not accept ownership of alternative lighting systems.
C. The underground system provided for alternative assemblies must be designed, constructed and installed in a manner to allow conversion to a city standard lighting system. (Ord. 98-42 § 1(part), 1998: Ord. 94-11 § 1(part), 1994).
