1.12.010 Manner of passage.

The manner of passing ordinances, except ordinances granting franchises, of the town council shall be as follows: Every ordinance presented for the consideration of the council shall be in writing and shall be read aloud by the clerk/treasurer. If it passes by a majority of the members of the council, with each council member’s individual vote recorded, it shall be published once in the town’s official publication and shall become effective five days after said publication. 1.12.020 Franchise ordinance passage.

Ordinances granting franchises shall not be passed the day of their introduction, nor for five days thereafter, nor at any other than a regular meeting, and then by at least three councilmen. (Ord. 328 § 2, 1969; Ord. 1 § 2).
