12.10.010 Purpose.

The purpose of this chapter is to protect the health and safety of the citizens of West Richland and to establish minimum maintenance responsibilities for streets, and to establish conditions under which the city will accept responsibility for streets added to the city street system. 12.10.020 Maintenance standards.

The city shall make every effort within budgetary constraints, personnel levels, available equipment, and within other city maintenance priorities, to maintain those city streets for which the city has accepted responsibility. Maintenance of city streets includes pothole repair, striping, snow/ice sanding and plowing, street sweeping and other activities as deemed appropriate by the city. [Ord. 46-93 § 1, 1993].

12.10.030 Street acceptance.

The city shall provide maintenance activities only on streets within the city which have been formally dedicated to the city and have been formally accepted by the city as part of the city street system. The city will not accept into the city street system any street which has not been constructed to city standards. [Ord. 46-93 § 1, 1993].
