9.04.010 Definitions.

Definitions contained in RCW Chapter 9.46, as now or thereafter amended, and augmented by the rules and regulations promulgated by the Washington State Gambling Commission, are adopted by reference thereto. (Ord. dated 9/20/76 § 1; prior code § 4.03.010).

9.04.020 Bingo, raffles and social card games permitted.

Any bona fide charitable or nonprofit organization qualifying under RCW Chapter 9.46 and the rules and regulations promulgated pursuant thereto, having any necessary licenses therefor, issued by the Washington State Gambling Commission, pursuant to RCW Chapter 9.46, may conduct bingo games, raffles, amusement games and social card games in the unincorporated areas of Whatcom County; provided, however, that all reports and payments required are current. 9.04.030 Public cardrooms prohibited – Restriction on social card game.

Repealed by Ord. 2008-019. (Ord. 97-060; Ord. dated 6/26/78; Ord. dated 9/20/76 § 3; prior code § 4.03.030).

9.04.040 Violation – Penalties.

A. A violation of any provision of this chapter shall constitute a misdemeanor.

B. Any person convicted of:

1. Violation of any of the provisions of this chapter; or

2. Knowingly causing, aiding, abetting or conspiring with another to cause any person, association or organization to violate any provision of this chapter; or

3. Making a false or misleading statement or false entry in any report required to be submitted under this chapter; or

4. Wilful refusal to produce for inspection any book, record or document in connection with any report required in this chapter; or

5. Intentional obstruction or attempt to obstruct a public servant in the administration or enforcement of this chapter by use of, or threat of use of, any physical force or by means of any unlawful act, shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not more than $500.00.
