GENERAL PENALTY*

*    For statutory provisions authorizing the board of county commissioners to make and enforce, by appropriate resolutions or ordinances, all such police and sanitary regulations as are not in conflict with state law, and authorizing the board of county commissioners to declare any violation of such resolutions or ordinances to be a misdemeanor, see RCW 36.32.120(7). For statutory provisions declaring “every crime punishable by a fine of not more than two hundred fifty dollars, or by imprisonment in a county jail for not more than ninety days,” a misdemeanor, see RCW 9.01.020.

Unless otherwise specifically provided, any person violating any provisions or failing to comply with any of the mandatory requirements of the ordinances of Yakima County shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. Any person convicted of a misdemeanor under the ordinances of Yakima County shall be punished by a fine of not more than two hundred fifty dollars, or by imprisonment not to exceed ninety days or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each such person shall be guilty of a separate offense for each and every day during any portion of which any violation of any provision of the ordinances of Yakima County is committed, continued or permitted by any such person, and he shall be punished accordingly.
