2.48.010 Purpose of chapter.
Zillah city council has determined that it is in the best interest of the city to undertake a comprehensive review to ensure the accuracy and consistency of applicable Revised Codes of Washington and the Zillah Municipal Code, starting with our boards, committees, and commissions. The goal of this endeavor is to increase clarity, consistency, transparency, and public involvement, while also reducing the city’s legal liability. (Ord. 1579 § 1, 2024)
2.48.020 Repeal of boards, committees, and commissions.
Under this chapter, the following boards, committees, and commissions previously codified in ZMC 2.04.140(C) are repealed:
A. Finance committee;
B. Streets, alleys and highways committee;
C. Light, water and sewer committee;
D. Judiciary and ordinance committee;
E. City property committee;
F. Public privileges committee;
G. Police and fire committee;
H. Audit, demand, and claims committee;
I. Petitions and remonstrances committee. (Ord. 1579 § 2, 2024)
2.48.030 Repeal of ZMC 2.04.140(C).
The ordinance codified in this chapter repeals and supersedes those provisions outlined in ZMC 2.04.140(C). All provisions for the Zillah planning commission are contained in this chapter and all prior provisions are repealed. (Ord. 1579 § 3, 2024)
2.48.040 Repeal of previous version of chapter.
The ordinance codified in this chapter repeals and supersedes those provisions outlined in the previous version of this chapter. All provisions for the Zillah planning commission are contained in this chapter and all prior provisions are repealed. (Ord. 1579 § 4, 2024)
2.48.050 Appointments.
Any appointments associated with the boards, committees, and commissions listed within this document are hereby voided. (Ord. 1579 § 5, 2024)
2.48.060 Interim open public meeting designation.
In the interim as the planning commission is reorganized, all responsibilities under ZMC 17.06.020 are hereby delegated back to the Zillah city council for compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act. (Ord. 1579 § 6, 2024)
