5.36.010 Requirement of permit.

No person shall operate, manage, conduct, or otherwise allow a yard sale to be conducted upon his or her premises or other property under his or her control without first having obtained a permit from the city clerk/treasurer. Any person desiring to conduct a yard sale may obtain a permit from the city clerk/treasurer upon making a request for a permit and the payment of a $5.00 fee. No parcel shall be allowed to obtain more than three permits per year. A permit for a yard sale shall be valid for a period of time of up to three consecutive days of the month. Yard sales may only be conducted during the daylight hours. (Ord. 899 § 2, 2000)

5.36.020 Yard sale signs.

Yard sale signs and posters shall be permitted to be placed upon the property of the person obtaining the permit to conduct the sale. Yard sale signs may be placed on other parcels of private property with the consent of the owner thereof. Yard sale signs shall not be posted more than 48 hours prior to the time of the sale and shall be removed within six hours after the close of the sale. (Ord. 899 § 3, 2000)

5.36.030 Penalties for violations.

Any person found in violation of this chapter shall be deemed to have committed a civil infraction. Upon a finding by the municipal court that the ordinance codified in this chapter was violated, the person found in violation thereof may be assessed a fine of up to $50.00 per violation.
