8.20.010 Adoption of State Uniform Fluid Milk Act.

The Washington State Uniform Fluid Milk Act as adopted by the Legislature of the state, Laws of 1961, Chapter 11 (Chapter 15.36 RCW), is adopted as the fluid milk ordinance of the city, and the provisions of said act and the regulations published pursuant thereto are adopted as the provisions and regulations of the city, and the several sections of the act as numbered therein shall constitute the section numbers of, and be referred to as the section numbers of, this chapter. Whenever in such act the term “director of agriculture” is used, the term “health officer,” the same being the health officer for the health district comprising the geographical area of the county, may be substituted therefor, and the health officer shall have the powers and duties in the act imposed upon the director of agriculture insofar as the act shall apply to the city. 8.20.020 Adds Section 15.36.501 – Raw milk.

There shall be added to the Uniform Fluid Milk Act the following section, reading as follows:

15.36.501 Raw milk – No milk or milk products shall be sold to the final consumer or to restaurants, soda fountains, grocery stores, or similar establishments, except certified, pasteurized, Grade A pasteurized, or certified milk raw.

8.20.030 Amends Section 15.36.590 – Penalty.

Section 15.36.590 of the Laws of 1961, Chapter 11, is amended to read as follows:

Penalty for Violations – Any person, firm, association or corporation violating any provisions of this Chapter, in addition to any other penalty which may be imposed, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined a sum of not to exceed one hundred dollars or imprisonment in the City Jail not to exceed thirty (30) days, or both so fined and imprisoned.
