13.36.010 Responsibility for maintenance.

The City shall only be responsible for the maintenance of the public sewer. Side sewers shall be maintained by the property owners served. (Ord. 2186 § 2, 1998).

13.36.020 Prohibited discharges.

The discharge into any sewer by direct or indirect means of any of the following is prohibited and unlawful:

A. Subsoil foundation drains;

B. Footing drains;

C. Window well drains;

D. Door well drains;

E. Yard drains;

F. Unroofed basement floor drains;

G. Overflows from unpolluted water storage facilities;

H. Clear water from refrigeration, reverse-cycle heat pumps and cooling or air conditioning equipment installed hereafter, except for the periodic draining and cleaning of such systems;

I. Roof drains or downspouts from areas exposed to rainfall or other precipitation;

J. Surface or underground waters from any source;

K. Septic tanks;

L. Any discharge that does not comply with the provisions for discharging into the sanitary sewer as specified in King County Industrial Waste Local Discharge Limits Public Rule PUT 8-13-1 (PR), as authorized under King County Code 28.84.060, as amended. 13.36.030 Preliminary treatment.

Preliminary treatment may be required by the occupant if the biochemical oxygen demand of the waste exceeds 250 parts per million by weight. Such preliminary facilities shall be constructed, operated and maintained by the owner at his own expense. (Ord. 2186 § 2, 1998).

13.36.040 Right to remove unlawful connection.

Pursuant to RCW 35.91.040, the City may remove or cause to be removed any unauthorized tap or connection and all connecting tile or pipe located in the facility right-of-way and dispose of any unauthorized material so removed without any liability whatsoever. (Ord. 2186 § 2, 1998).
