5.36.010 Hotel—Defined.

“Hotel,” for the purposes of this chapter only, means any building held out to the public to be an inn, hotel or public lodginghouse or place where sleeping accommodations are furnished for hire to transient guests, whether with or without meals, in which fifteen or more rooms are used for the accommodation of such guests. 5.36.020 Record of guests—Required.

The proprietor, owner or manager of every hotel situated in the city shall keep a record showing the hour, day, month and year of the arrival and departure of this guests of such hotel in such a manner that the record will be a permanent one for at least one year from the date of departure. (Prior code § 5.32.020)

5.36.030 Record of guests—Open for inspection.

The record provided for in Section 5.36.020 of this chapter, shall, at all reasonable times, be open to the inspection of the chief of police or other member of the police force of the city. (Prior code § 5.32.030)

5.36.040 Violation—Penalty.

Any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not less than five dollars nor more than one hundred dollars or by imprisonment in the city jail not exceeding thirty days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
