2.28.010 Established — Membership.

Pursuant to RCW 41.26.110, the Redmond Disability Board is established, which shall consist of two members of the City Council to be appointed by the Mayor, one firefighter to be elected by the majority vote of city firefighters under LEOFF, one law enforcement officer to be elected by the majority vote of law enforcement officers under LEOFF, and one citizen from the public at large residing within the city to be appointed by the four other members appointed and elected. (Ord. 886 § 1, 1979).

2.28.020 Terms — Vacancies.

All members of the Redmond Disability Board shall serve for a two-year term; provided, that for first terms, the law enforcement officer elected shall serve for a one-year term as designated by the Mayor, and all other appointees shall serve two-year terms. First terms shall commence as of November 1, 1979. Members whose present terms expire on December 31st shall serve until March 31st and all successive terms shall commence on April 1st. Vacancies shall be filled by appointment for the unexpired term of the member whose death, resignation or removal creates the vacancy. Each member shall hold office until a successor is appointed and confirmed. (Ord. 1293 § 3, 1985: Ord. 886 § 2, 1979).

2.28.030 Duties and powers — Rules and regulations.

The board shall perform all functions, exercise all powers and make all determinations as specified in RCW Chapter 41.26 for disability boards. The board may adopt reasonable rules and regulations to carry out its authority and to govern the manner and form of filing, presentations and hearings before the board. (Ord. 886 § 3, 1979).

2.28.040 Compensation — Expenses.

The members of the board shall receive no compensation for their service upon the board, but shall be reimbursed for all expenses incurred incidental to their services on the board. (Ord. 886 § 4, 1979).
