8.22.011 Intent.

Over the years, the citizens of West Richland have made it apparent that they enjoy utilizing fireworks as part of their Independence Day celebrations. As a city council we must balance that desire with the safety and concerns of others in the community. In order to accomplish a clear and enforceable law we are adopting standards established by the Washington State Fire Marshal’s office. It is our intent that everyone has an opportunity to celebrate in a lawful and appropriate manner. [Ord. 20-13 § 1 (Att. A), 2013; Ord. 25-08 § 1, 2008].
