FALSE REPORTS*

9.04.010 False alarms of fire prohibited.
It is unlawful for any person without reasonable cause, by outcry or the ringing of bells, or proclaiming “Fire,” or by any other means whatsoever, to make or circulate any false alarm of fire within the city. (Prior code § 14.12).
9.04.020 False report to police – Prohibited.
It is unlawful for any person, either as principal, agent, servant or employee, to willfully and knowingly report to the police department of the city or any member or agency thereof any false event, circumstance, fact or accusation calculated, designed or intended to furnish the basis for any investigation, arrest or prosecution. (Prior code § 20.12).
9.04.030 False report to police – Report as proof of willful action.
Proof under the foregoing section that any person, either as principal, agent, servant or employee, did in fact report to the police department of the city, or any member or agency thereof, any false event, circumstance, fact or accusation calculated, designed or intended to furnish the basis for any investigation, arrest or prosecution shall constitute prima facie proof that he did so willfully and knowingly.
