10.52.010 Findings.
It is determined upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation that the speed permitted by state law upon the following streets is less than is necessary for the safe operation of vehicles thereon by reason of the designation and signposting of such streets as through highways and/or by reason of widely spaced intersections, and it is declared that the prima facie speed limit shall be as set forth on those streets or parts of streets designated when signs are erected giving notice thereof. All units of measurement are cited in standard and metric terms pursuant to Section 21251.2 of the Vehicle Code of California. (Ord. 2003-639 § 1; Ord. 97-608 § 1; Ord. 97-605 § 1; Ord. 79-419 § 1).
10.52.020 Speed zones created.
The following speed zones are created within the city limits of the city:
A. West on Main Street from Third Street to city limits – 35 miles per hour (55 km/h).
B. South on Twelfth Street from South Loni Drive to city limits – 35 miles per hour (55 km/h).
C. North on Twelfth Street from city limits to South Loni Drive – 35 miles per hour (55 km/h).
D. South on Fortuna Blvd. from 148 North Fortuna Blvd. to Kenmar Road – 35 miles per hour (55 km/h).
E. South on Ross Hill Road from Kenmar Road to School Street – 35 miles per hour (55 km/h).
F. North on Ross Hill Road from School Street to Kenmar Road – 35 miles per hour (55 km/h).
G. Rohnerville Road east out of Fortuna from Newell Drive to city limits – 35 miles per hour (55 km/h).
H. Rohnerville Road west into Fortuna from Drake Hill Road to Newell Drive – 35 miles per hour (55 km/h). (Ord. 2003-639 § 1; Ord. 97-608 § 1; Ord. 97-605 § 1; Ord. 79-419 § 2).
