SELECTION AND TRAINING STANDARDS OF PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHERS

4.28.010 Purpose.

The city of Petaluma declares that it desires to qualify to receive aid from the state of California under the provisions of Section 13522, Chapter 1, of Title 4, Part 4, of the California Penal Code. (Ord. 1764 NCS §1, 1989.)

4.28.020 Adherence to standards.

Pursuant to Section 13510(c), Chapter 1, the Petaluma Police Department will adhere to standards for recruitment and training established by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST). (Ord. 1764 NCS §1, 1989.)

4.28.030 Inquiries.

Pursuant to Section 13512, Chapter 1, the commission and its representatives may make such inquiries as deemed appropriate by the commission to ascertain that the Petaluma Police Department’s public safety dispatches personnel adhere to standards for selection and training established by the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training. 4.28.040 Statutory severability.

If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this chapter is, for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of the chapter. (Ord. 1764 NCS §1, 1989.)
