 2.21.010  Chemical spills.

The city fire department shall have the responsibility and duty to answer immediately any call or report of the spill or escape of chemical substances known or suspected to be dangerous to human or animal life, health or safety, whether resulting from explosion, leakage, vehicular accident, or any other cause whatsoever. The fire department shall take all measures within its control to contain such spillage, to prohibit the approach of persons at the scene, except authorized persons, to isolate the scene, and all reasonable measures to prevent injury. The police department, public works department, and other city departments shall assist as requested by the fire chief or fire department officers acting in his place. (Ord. 83-13 ยง 1, 1983).
