ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER —

8.04.010  Animal control officer – Appointment.

The chief of police shall enforce the provisions of this title and shall appoint an animal control officer. The animal control officer and deputies may act as deputy city clerk for the purpose of collecting dog license fees. (Ord. 2000-5 § 1, 2000).

8.04.020  Animal control officer to keep certain records.

The animal control officer shall keep such records as the city manager may prescribe. Such records shall be kept in a book provided for that purpose; and such records at all times shall be available for inspection by the city council. (Ord. 2000-5 § 1, 2000).

8.04.040  Disposal of money received.

All money received by the animal control officer or the city clerk under the provisions of this chapter, including license fees, shall be deposited in the general fund of the city. (Ord. 2000-5 § 1, 2000).

8.04.050  Public pound – Location.

There shall be a public pound located at the police department, supervised by the animal control officer with the approval of the chief of police, the city manager and city council. (Ord. 2000-5 § 1, 2000).
