Article 9. Enforcement

9.01 Permits, certificates or licenses not to be issued in contravention of ordinance.

All departments, officers and public employees vested with the duty or authority to issue permits, certificates or licenses shall issue no permit, certificate or license for uses, buildings or purposes in conflict with the provisions of these regulations and any such permit, certificate or license issued in conflict with the provisions of these regulations shall be null and void.

9.02 Penalties for violations.

Any person, whether principal, agent, employee or otherwise, violating or causing or permitting the violation of any of the provisions of these regulations shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars or by imprisonment for not more than six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.

9.03 Buildings or uses contrary to ordinance are nuisances.

Any building or use operated or maintained contrary to the provisions of these regulations shall be, and the same is hereby declared to be a public nuisance and shall be subject to injunction and abatement as such.

9.04 Remedies cumulative.

The remedies provided herein shall be cumulative and not exclusive.

9.05 Director to enforce ordinance.

The director shall be responsible for the primary enforcement of the provisions of this ordinance.
