1.24.010 When held.
Pursuant to the provisions of Government Code Section 36503.5, the municipal elections for the city are established to coincide with the school district elections established by state law. (Ord. 12-81 §1, 1981).
1.24.020 Candidate filing fee.
Pursuant to the provisions of California Elections Code Section 22843, candidates for the office of city council member shall pay a candidate filing fee in the amount of twenty-five dollars payable at the time nomination papers are filed. (Ord. 4-87 §1, 1987).
1.24.030 Interpretation of this chapter.
The definitions set forth in Government Code Sections 82000 et seq. shall govern the interpretation of this chapter. (Ord. 2-96 §1(part), 1996).

1.24.050 Applicability of other laws.
Nothing in this Act shall exempt any person from applicable provisions of any other laws of this state or jurisdiction. (Ord. 2-96 §1(part), 1996).
1.24.060 Violations.
Violations of this chapter shall not be considered a misdemeanor or infraction. (Ord. 2-96 §1(part), 1996).
1.24.070 Severability.
If any provision of this chapter, or the application of any such provision to any person or circumstances, shall be held invalid, the remainder of this chapter to the extent it can be given effect, or the application of such provision to persons or circumstances other than those as to which it is held invalid, shall not be affected thereby, and to this extent the provisions of this chapter are severable. 1.24.080 Contributions and contributors.
On the Friday preceding any special or general election, the city clerk shall publish in a newspaper of general circulation the name of each person and committee from whom a contribution or contributions totaling one hundred dollars or more has been received, the amounts each person or committee contributed, and the candidates or committees which received such amounts, as such appear on the campaign statements filed within the six-month period prior to the election pursuant to Article 2 (commencing with Section 84200) of the Government Code.
For the purposes of this section, the definitions contained in Chapter 2 (commencing with Section 82000) of the Government Code apply. (Ord. 1-07 §3, 2007: Ord. 2-96 §1(part), 1996).
