2.45.010 Organization generally – Superintendent of streets.
The Street Department shall be under the direct supervision of a Superintendent of Streets and shall be organized into divisions as provided in this chapter. (Ord. 1215 § 2, 7-22-69; Ord. 1398 § 2, 3-25-80. Formerly § 2-37).
2.45.020 Street maintenance division.
There shall be a street maintenance division in the Street Department, the head of which shall be in the unclassified service. The duties and responsibilities of this division shall be to maintain the City's street system, including public sidewalks, alleys and public parking facilities, and to perform all authorized construction projects not let to private contract. 2.45.030 Storm drain division.
There shall be a storm drain division in the Street Department, the head of which shall be in the unclassified service. The duties and responsibilities of this division shall be to maintain the City's storm drainage system and perform all authorized construction projects not let to private contract. 2.45.040 Street sanitation division.
There shall be a street sanitation division in the Street Department, the head of which shall be in the unclassified service. The duties and responsibilities of this division shall be to provide for and administer an efficient solid waste management program including the recovery and reuse of waste materials. 2.45.050 Parkways and boulevard division.
There shall be a parkways and boulevard division in the Street Department, the head of which shall be in the unclassified service. The duties and responsibilities of this division shall be to maintain and cultivate the public parkways and planting areas along the City street system, including the trees and shrubbery thereon.
