2.48.020  Adjournment to future specified date.

At any regular meeting the council may adjourn to a specified time thereafter, and the adjourned meeting shall be deemed a regular meeting at which all business may be transacted in the same manner and with the same force and effect as at a regular meeting held at the time appointed by this chapter.  (Ord. 1732 §2, 1965)

2.48.030  Place of meeting.

A.  The council shall meet at such place as it may, from time to time, determine upon, which place shall be within the city limits of the city.

B.  Repealed by Ord. 2795.  (Ord. 2795 §2, 1997; Ord. 1732 §3, 1965)

2.48.040  Proceedings in conformity with Charter.

All proceedings of the council shall be conducted in conformity with the provisions of the Charter of the city.  (Ord. 1732 §4, 1965)

2.48.050  Order of business.

Repealed by Ord. 2795.  (Ord. 1732 §5, 1965)

2.48.060  Parliamentary questions.

All parliamentary questions which may arise before the council, not otherwise provided for, shall be determined by Robert’s Rules of Order.  (Ord. 1732 §6, 1965)

2.48.070  Voting procedures.

Unless a member of the council states that he is not voting, his silence shall be recorded as an affirmative vote.  If a member of the council states that he is not voting, his vote is not considered, either for or against the proposition.  (Ord. 1732 §7, 1965)

2.48.080  Absence without just cause--Arrest to fulfill quorum.

In case of wilful absence without just cause of any member of the council, resulting in a lack of a quorum and the inability of the council to do business, the members present may by motion direct the chief of police or other police officer to arrest such absent member and bring him to the place of meeting.  (Ord. 1732 §8, 1965)

2.48.090  Sergeant-at-arms at meetings.

The chief of police, or such member of the police department as he shall designate, shall be sergeant-at-arms of the council.  He shall carry out orders and instructions given by the presiding officer for the purpose of maintaining order and decorum.  (Ord. 1732 §9, 1965)
