SHERIFF’S DONATION FUND

1.77.020 Sheriff’s donation revolving fund.

(a)    A revolving fund in the amount of two thousand dollars is established in the sheriff’s donation fund.

(b)    Such fund shall be known as the “sheriff’s donation revolving fund.”

(c)    Custodian of this fund shall be the sheriff’s chief civil deputy.

(d)    Use of all monies shall be limited to expenditures properly chargeable to the sheriff’s donation fund budget.

(e)    All expenditures shall be substantiated by receipts verifying all transactions.

(f)    The revolving fund shall be reimbursed to its full authorized amount prior to the end of each budget year. (Res. 2004-48, 5/3/04).

1.77.030 Online donation platforms.

(a)    The Chelan County sheriff’s office is hereby authorized to create and maintain official GoFundMe and/or Venmo accounts solely for the purpose of collecting donations designated for the sheriff’s donation fund.

(b)    All funds received through these online platforms shall be deposited into the established sheriff's donation fund and be subject to all applicable Chelan County financial management policies, oversight, and audit requirements.

(c)    The sheriff’s office shall ensure proper internal controls are in place for the creation, administration, and monitoring of the online accounts to ensure transparency and fiscal responsibility. (Res. 2025-68, 8/5/25).
