2.20.010 Created – Terms of office.

Pursuant to the authority conferred by Chapter 35.63 RCW, there is created a city planning commission consisting of seven members who shall be selected as follows: all seven members shall be appointed by the mayor and confirmed by a majority of the city council. Members of the planning commission shall serve terms of four years. Those members currently serving shall continue to serve for the remainder of their appointed terms. Terms shall be staggered. Terms expire on June 30th but members of the planning commission shall continue to serve until their successors are appointed and qualified. 2.20.020 Vacancies.

Vacancies occurring otherwise than through the expiration of terms shall be filled for the unexpired terms. Members may be removed by the mayor, with the approval of a majority of the council, after public hearing, for inefficiency, neglect of duty, or malfeasance in office. The members shall be selected without respect to political affiliations and they shall serve without compensation. (Ord. 74, 1964).
