2.17.010 Creation—Vacancy—Filling procedure.

There is created and established the office of city treasurer to be filled or vacated by appointment or removal by the mayor; provided, however, that during any absence, disability or suspension of the city treasurer or vacancy in the office of the mayor, the city council may designate a qualified administrative officer of the city who may appoint or remove a temporary city treasurer who shall have the same duties and authority and receive the same compensation as the city treasurer and who also may be removed by the mayor. 2.17.020 Oath.

The person so appointed to fill the office of treasurer, or temporary treasurer, or deputy treasurer, shall qualify before entering upon such duties by filing an oath to support the government of the United States of America, the state and the city and the faithful performance of his or her duties. 2.17.030 Powers and duties.

The city treasurer shall have all of the powers granted and duties imposed by authority of the laws of the state and ordinances of the city now existing or hereinafter adopted, subject to the general supervision and control of the mayor. (Ord. 844 § 2, 2008: Ord. 680 § 1 (part), 2000)

2.17.040 Compensation.

The city treasurer shall receive such compensation as may be fixed by the city council at the time the budget is made as provided by law. (Ord. 680 § 1 (part), 2000)
