8.68.010 Hours of operation.

A.    The hours of operation of city parks shall be as follows:

1.    Summer hours: six a.m. to ten pm., May 1st through October 31st;

2.    Winter hours: eight a.m. to six pm., November 1st through April 30th.

B.    The time referred to above shall be Daylight Savings Time or Pacific Standard Time, whichever is in effect on the date in question.

C.    Any use of city parks during closed hours shall require written permission from the director of community development. (Ord. 1217 § 1, 1987)

8.68.020 Groups.

Groups of more than twenty people shall not be allowed to use any city park without first obtaining a permit from the director of community development. This shall not apply to athletic events conducted on park playfields. (Ord. 1217 § 2, 1987)

8.68.030 Violation—Penalty.

A.    It shall be unlawful for any person, other than a police officer or authorized community development employees to enter into or remain within a park within the city of Shelton during closed hours.

B.    A violation of Sections 8.68.010 or 8.68.020 shall be a misdemeanor and shall be a fine of up to one thousand dollars and/or ninety days in jail. (Ord. 1217 § 3, 1987)
