2.95.050 Risk management committee—Created.

(A)    Committee Membership. A Clark County risk management committee is created to be composed of representatives of at least the following Clark County departments: public works, community development, sheriff, auditor, prosecuting civil deputy, general services director, and the risk manager. All other departments are encouraged to attend.

(B)    Committee Meetings. The committee shall meet to conduct its business at least quarterly.

(C)    Executive Committee. The risk manager, together with the public works director, community development director, prosecuting civil deputy, auditor, the sheriff, and the general services director, will constitute the executive committee of the risk management committee. The executive committee should meet as necessary to transact business.

(D)    Chairperson. The executive committee shall elect a chairperson and a vice-chairperson of the committee.

(E)    Powers and Duties of Committee. The risk management committee will review quarterly reports of the risk manager. Each member will provide input from their department of the policies of loss control. The committee may make recommendations to the board of policies and policy changes. Each member will communicate loss control policies and changes to their respective departments.

The executive committee will recommend loss control policies and policy changes to the board. It will review all contracts recommended by the risk manager, and make recommendations to the board.

(F)    Additional Duties. In addition to the functions set out in Section 2.95.040 of this chapter, upon request of the board, the executive committee may examine insurance requirements that may be generated by agreements of all kinds entered into by the county and report thereon to the board. The committee, in conjunction with the risk manager, shall serve as a body to disseminate and communicate information to various department heads and to the board in the furtherance of the loss control program.
