OFFICERS’ OATH AND BOND

2.12.010 Oath required.

Prior to entering upon the performance of duties, the Mayor and City Councilpersons shall be required to take an oath for the faithful performance of their duties. (Ord. 1426 § 1, 1980).

2.12.020 Bond required.

A. Prior to entering upon the performance of duties, the City Treasurer, City Clerk and Chief of Police shall be required to furnish an official bond, to be renewed annually, conditioned on the honest and faithful performance of their official duties, as required by RCW 35A.12.080. Prescribed performance bond amounts shall be:

1. City Treasurer, $50,000;

2. City Clerk, $10,000;

3. Chief of Police, $10,000.

B. Compliance with such provisions shall be an essential part of qualification for office. (Ord. 1426 § 2, 1980).
