2.18.010 Training program – Agreement for applicants.

Any applicant for the position of patrolman within the Issaquah Police Department shall, as a condition of application and in addition to all existing requirements, execute an agreement in writing with the City that, upon completion of any City-sponsored training program of 3 months or more in duration, he or she will upon completion of the training program remain in the service of the City, if his or her services are otherwise satisfactory, for not less than 2 years from date of completion of such training course or refund to the City the amount of salary, wages and expenses that the City has paid to him or her or for his benefit during such training period. Such agreement shall not extend or otherwise effect the tenure of a probationary employee nor limit or restrict the authority of the police civil service commission to remove, discharge, suspend, demote, reduce in rank, or take other similar action.
