FIRE SUPPRESSION FEES

3.62.010 Fee imposed.

A. A fee shall be imposed on any person whose actions lead to a response from the Issaquah Fire Department in the following cases:

1. For responses made to a fire or accident which occurred as a result of a negligent or intentional act, the fee shall be imposed against the individual or individuals responsible for said act; or

2. For responses made as a result of maliciously set false alarms or repeated nonmaliciously set false alarms, the fee shall be imposed against the individual or individuals responsible for the false alarm.

B. The fee shall be equal to the reasonable costs, as determined by the Fire Chief, incurred by the City in responding to a fire or fire alarm, including the cost to deploy fire or emergency units and the number of units deployed; the cost of personnel; the cost of any other equipment used in response to the call; the replacement cost of consumable items, such as foam, air and oxygen; and the replacement cost of equipment destroyed or lost while combating a fire and not replaced by proceeds from insurance. 3.62.020 Fee schedule.

Repealed by Ord. 2498. (Ord. 1621 § 2, 1984).

3.62.030 Fire Chief to administer.

The Fire Chief shall make the determination as to when the fees set forth in this chapter shall be assessed and which individual or individuals shall be responsible for payment of the said fees. This determination shall be final. (Ord. 1621 § 3, 1984).
