INMATE HEALTH

3.78.010 Created – Revenue source.
There is created a new account entitled the Inmate Health and Welfare Account. Each person booked into the City’s jail shall pay $50.00 into this fund. All proceeds from the sale of commissary items and all inmate telephone commissions shall also be paid into this account. (Ord. 2414 § 1, 2004; Ord. 2292 § 1, 2000).
3.78.020 Purpose – Use of funds.
This fund shall be spent on items necessary for the health and welfare of jail inmates, including but not limited to the following: the purchase, lease, and/or maintenance of equipment; indigent inmate care; inmate health care; pharmaceuticals; indigent inmate electric home detention fees; and any other service that benefits the health and welfare of the inmate population. (Ord. 2292 § 1, 2000).
3.78.030 Unexpended funds.
Unexpended funds remaining in the Inmate Health and Welfare Account at the end of any budget year shall be carried forward from year to year until expended for the purposes set forth in this chapter. (Ord. 2292 § 1, 2000).
