1.06.010 General penalties.

A. Criminal Penalty. Unless otherwise provided, any person violating any of the provisions of the Issaquah Municipal Code or failing to comply with any of the mandatory requirements of this code is guilty of a misdemeanor. Any person convicted of a misdemeanor under this code shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $5,000 or by imprisonment not to exceed 1 year, or by both such fine and imprisonment.

B. Civil Penalty. Any person violating any of the provisions of this code or failing to comply with any of the mandatory requirements of this code which is designated a civil offense, shall have committed a civil infraction. Unless otherwise provided, any such person shall be assessed a monetary penalty not to exceed $250.00 for each day that the violation occurs. (Ord. 1694 § 2, 1985).

1.06.020 Separate offense.

Every person violating any of the provisions of this code or failing to comply with any of the mandatory requirements of this code is guilty of a separate offense for each and every day during any portion of which the violation is committed, continued or permitted by any such person. (Ord. 1694 § 3, 1985).

1.06.030 Nuisance.

In addition to the penalties provided in IMC 1.06.010, any condition caused or permitted to exist in violation of any of the provisions of this code is a public nuisance, and all remedies given by law for the prevention and abatement of nuisances shall apply regardless of any other remedy. (Ord. 1694 § 4, 1985).

1.06.040 Violation of IMC 18.20.050.

Any person violating or failing to comply with the provisions of IMC 18.20.050, Certificate of Appropriateness procedure, shall incur a civil penalty of up to $500.00 per day and each day’s violation or failure to comply shall constitute a separate offense. (Ord. 2319 § 2, 2001).
