13.15.005 Definitions.

Certain words and phrases in this chapter, unless otherwise clearly indicated by their context, are defined in KMC 13.05.010. [Ord. 23-0585 § 1 (Exh. 1).]

13.15.010 Certificate required for cleaning disposal units.

It is unlawful for any person to carry on or engage in the business of cleaning of septic tanks, cesspools, grease traps or seepage pits or to transport over the highways or to dispose of the cleanings therefrom in the City of Kenmore unless an unrevoked registration and inspection certificate has been issued by the public health department to the person for carrying on such business. 13.15.020 Application for registration and inspection certificate.

All applicants for registration for sewage system inspection, cleaning, and removal under this chapter shall be filed with the public health department. Applications, review, and approval shall be in accordance with the rules and regulations of the public health department. Fees shall be per the approved fee schedule established by King County. 13.15.030 Examination of applicant – Inspection of disposal site – Registration and inspection fee – Painting registration number on vehicles.

13.15.040 Approval required for alternate disposal sites.

Repealed by Ord. 23-0585. [Ord. 98-0023 §§ 1, 2 (KCC 13.12.040).]

13.15.050 Maintenance of disposal sites.

Any person responsible for the operation of a refuse site on which the contents of septic tanks, cesspools, grease traps or seepage pits are disposed of shall maintain said disposal site in a safe and sanitary condition according to the instructions of the public health department. 13.15.060 Enforcement.

The director of public health is authorized to enforce the provisions of this chapter and any rules and regulations promulgated thereunder pursuant to King County Code Title 23. [Ord. 23-0585 § 1 (Exh. 1); Ord. 98-0023 §§ 1, 2 (KCC 13.12.060).]

13.15.070 Severability.

Should any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this chapter be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this chapter. [Ord. 23-0585 § 1 (Exh. 1); Ord. 98-0023 §§ 1, 2 (KCC 13.12.070).]
